Alyssa Paris, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I'm Alyssa Paris, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a rich background in therapy and the healing arts. My journey into this field began in high school, where I first discovered my passion for psychology. I studied liberal arts, languages and psychology as an undergraduate in California and abroad in Bordeaux, France, and completed a graduate counseling program with an emphasis in somatic psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
In my professional journey, I've worked extensively with adults, adolescents, and children in private practice and school settings and have honed my skills in supporting individuals with trauma histories and attachment issues. My areas of focus include: PTSD and dissociation, highly sensitive people, anxiety, grief and loss, spirituality and life purpose, body positivity and self-esteem, chronic pain and illness, depression, intergenerational trauma, pregnancy and life transitions, parenting, codependency and relationships.
I approach therapy with a blend of deep listening, intuition, curiosity, and compassion. My training includes Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Hakomi, sandtray, play therapy, sound healing, dreamwork and expressive arts therapy. I draw inspiration from Jungian and Buddhist psychologies, ecotherapy and parts-work modalities such as IFS.
